What better way to spend my last day then with an NYC themed OOTD video. This one was filmed by one of my good friends, Kendrin; also known as Koid24 on Instagram. Filming is his thing and I am so happy we manage to get a little collaboration video in before I left permanently.
The vision was most definitely in sync: I couldn’t be happier with the end result.
Kae and I were treated to a lil’ bowling date by Kendrin & his bae a few weeks ago. Just sit back, relax, and relive a NYC night with me.
I’m back at it again with a new Parsons x Teen Vogue assignment.
I don’t have many left to do, which is super exciting. I started this class almost a year ago! I am super close to obtaining my certificate in the Fashion Industry Essentials.
Today’s assignment is a bit different compared to the other two I recently posted up. This one focuses on playing around with your analytic information on both hootsuite.com and the built-in functions on social media websites; in my case that was WordPress & Youtube.
From the information I gathered, I learned that most of my readers are female, in between the ages of 18-24. They mostly come from the United States but I found that a few European countries [France, United Kingdom, Italy to name a few] and Brazil were other places where my content is being watched & read.
It’s really interesting learning where in the world your content is being viewed. I am definitely going to take some time to really learn how to properly use the analytical information on these tools. When examined properly, there is definitely potential of being able to use that to your advantage as far as marketing goes.
“…She had the soul of a gypsy, the heart of a hippie, the spirit of a fairy…”
I am a proud Taurus. I know some folks aren’t into their horoscopes but I am a total horoscope junkie – I love to read them on the daily! One of the many known traits of Taurus’s is the fact that we are Earth signs – we love all things nature, and green. I totally have a connection with mother Earth and wanted to dedicate an entire post to all of her glory:
The dress is from H&M: I am in love with how delicate and dainty I feel in it; it’s totally spot on as far as capturing the ‘bohemian’ vibes I’m constantly yearning for.
The earrings are from a local jewelry designer here in Bushwick who I happened to meet at my last Flea Market vending event; these are definitely my current go-to accessory. To check out her Instagram click here.
Both my shoes and clutch were thrifted. I will forever be a promoter of thrifting and recycling clothing. For my top 8 tips on thrifting, be sure to click here.
I’m also thinking about dedicating a post/video to the issues of Fast Fashion and how fashion really does feed off of our consumerist culture. This is something that I have personally been affected by and want to try to make a positive change in. Please let me know if anyone is interested in learning more about fast fashion and its effects on our planet!
I am SO excited for this weeks video – it’s super short but I promise you, it’s totally sweet.
Since starting my new job three weeks ago, I feel like I am FINALLY getting back on track with both filming & blogging.
I do plan on doing weekly videos and posts again: one video and one outfit post per week. There may be some exceptions on certain weeks were I post up two non-video posts on my blog, like this week, but overall, I do plan on getting back into a regular schedule. Thank you for keeping up with me!
Today’s video is an Outfit of the Day, featuring a special top handmade by my lovely friend and fellow blogger, Ashley, of Vivacious Lifestylin’. She, like me, has a small online shop where she sells her handmade goodies. I am a HUGE supporter of small businesses & artists, so I thought it would be fun to trade some goodies and style & feature them on our platforms. I decided to films a video because I’ve been itching to experiment with filming.
It’s that growth – I’m ready to start creating quality content, folks.
My entire weekend was super chill – I spent it with my closest family members with no crazy celebration and it was honestly perfect. I like it when things are simple.
My sister was sweet enough to take my daughter and I out shopping and for lunch Thursday afternoon. I’m super stoked about everything she got me – the clothes perfectly fit with my new maturing style.
Friday was date night for the boo thang and I. We ate some Mexican food, had a few drinks and enjoyed each other’s company. I cherish easy going nights like these.
Kudos to darkotheshooter for the OOTD photo. Expect a full post on my birthday outfit next week.
Saturday, my mother took Kaelynn and I to the flea market. We use to go to the flea market ALL the time when I was younger, so reminiscing on that was super awesome. Oh, and to top it off: my mom gave me a whole 25$ to spend on myself. That may not seem like a lot, but when you’re go-to racks are the dollar racks – that’s what I call a shopping spree.
I was super excited about everything I got that I decided to film a haul video. I am definitely planing a few more trips to the flea market this summer. There are always hidden gems at the market.
I hope you had an amazing weekend! My weekend’s been pretty chill – I spent Saturday working on a school project at a friends house & spent my Sunday doing some Spring Cleanin’. It was desperately needed; I already feel more at ease with what’s to come as far as life & time managing goes. My foundation is organized. #blessed
I managed to even get a video edited this weekend: I introduce to you my sister, Bernice.
We’ve been talking about filming this video since 2014, and FINALLY, we found time to make this Sister Tag happen. I don’t film tag videos often, so I hope you enjoy this personal video!
Sit back, relax & watch my sister and I act like fools.
Would you guys like to see more personal videos like this one? Leave any recommendations in the comments.
I’m a bit late on the ‘boyfriend jean’ bandwagon, I wont lie.
BUT, in my defense, they are intimidating – I never saw myself as the type of gal who could pull off the ‘boyfriend’ look, especially with having hips & a bit of a booty. Thank you, mama. To my surprise, I found that they are actually very fun to style. There are endless amounts of ways to rock ’em, really, & I dig it. As far as styling goes, I normally like being super baggy when rocking my BF jeans: wearing an oversized tee while wearing booties or heels to fem up the look is my go-to.
Side Note: I am currently playing around with tighter silhouettes when it comes to rocking my BF Jeans – definitely stay tuned for future outfit posts featuring them! Side Side Note: I recently went thrifting & found a distressed pair, those will also be featured soon.
What are your favorite ways to style your boyfriend jeans? Please feel free to comment down below!
When YouTube first became a thing, I remember watching room tour videos non-stop, completely obsessed with how people decorated their rooms to represent and inspire their everyday lives. I always dreamed of having my own room – designed the way I wanted – but I had always shared my room with someone, which was no fun.
When I moved in with my boyfriend, though it was tough adjusting, we found that both of our aesthetics complimented each other really well. Designing our room has been a collaborative thing, and I couldn’t be more happier with the way it looks. The vibes are just right.
Darien – who is my boyfriend – was sweet enough to rearrange the room the week I did running crew at my school. The timing was perfect, especially since we are approaching the new year. There are lots of changes happening in my life at the moment & I can’t help but be thankful for this growth I am experiencing.
Though change can be scary, change is necessary for growth, and brings you a step closer to where it is you want to be in life. Never reject change, you never know what magic can happen as a result of being strong enough to endure that change. I can talk about the beauty of change forever, I swear. Let’s get back to the point of this post, though:
I hope you guys enjoy room tours as much as me.
Welcome from Brooklyn, New York:
What do you think of my room?
Thank you so much for watching! If you’re in school, I hope you are surviving finals – we’re almost there!
Denim is a fashion essential. That’s a known fact.
No matter what your style is, there is at least one piece of denim in your closet. It could be bottoms, tops, outerwear, or if you’re really funky, maybe even a handbag or purse. It’s a classic fabric.
I live in skinny jeans, but I cannot deny the love I have for denim jackets. There are unlimited possibilities on how you can style a denim jacket. Since I am a city gal, the urban vibes denim jackets tend to ooze off perfectly suits me. It’s one of my go to pieces, and have been for the past few years now.
I filmed a denim jacket lookbook back in April, which you can watch here, and had so much fun filming, editing & styling it. Since denim jackets are super versatile, i decided to do it again this fall season.
In this lookbook, I styled 3 different types of denim jackets: my fitted jacket, my oversized jacket, and the latest piece added into my collection, my DIY distressed, denim jacket.
Which look would you rock?
I’d love to know how you typically style your denim jacket. Comment down below & tell me!
